I have always been intrigued and fascinated by architecture. As a young boy I played for hours with wood blocks, trying to create fantasy buildings I wished I could visit.
I studied art and design, museum display, illustration and book binding with world renowned book designer Philip C. Smith in London, England. I have worked as an illustrator, book binder, furniture designer/maker & design instructor at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Incorporating symbolic architectural styles from around the world, each architectural case reflects a unique journey and is one of a kind. Some urns contain a second compartment to hold a treasured keepsake. Others, a custom handmade book to preserve a personal story or long forgotten aspect of family history. Using exotic woods such as Lacewood, Ebony, Rose wood and Cedar, custom urns can be inlaid with Amber, Lapis Lazuli and embellished with gold leaf, hand marbled paper and antique ribbon, suede, silk and other textiles.
Each urn is finished with hand applied and polished Beeswax.
Through thoughtful design, each one of my custom urns, commemorative cases and collectors boxes celebrates and recognizes the unique journey we take through life. Available as one of a kind and custom pieces, I invite you to contact me and discuss your specific requirements, so I can create a truly unique piece that will be treasured for generations to come.
Having experienced the loss of many loved ones myself, I bring an honest and compassionate perspective to my work.
Choosing a funeral urn is a difficult, emotional decision.
The urn defines the very personality of the loved one we have lost. Through discussion and exchange of information, I can create a funeral urn, memorial case or cremation urn that uniquely reflects the individuality of the person we look to honour.
